Laura & Ryan

When Laura met Ryan, she knew she had found the one. The same can be said for her Mia Solano wedding gown. Laura's slender frame looks stunning in her lace and tulle trumpet fit gown featuring 3/4 sleeves and a Queen Anne neckline. The couples lovely flowers were designed by the very talented Melissa of Blossom Sweet. Lucky for us, Laura's sister is none other than Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen, one of our very favorite photographers. Take a look at this couples gorgeous groomal session and you will definitely see why.

Local Vendor Spotlight

As many of you might know, The Brides' Shop has been serving brides since 1965! We feel such gratitude for the continued support from the community and from the wonderful brides that choose to support our locally run business. In a day and age where the internet is at the end of everyone's fingertips, we find it more important now than ever to invest in the local economy and support small business.

Our number one focus is always the bride, but we know there are many other details that go into planning  a wedding day. As customer service is our number one priority, we want our brides to be treated with care during their whole wedding planning process. We would like to introduce you to some of the fine, local retailers that are just waiting to make your wedding planning experience a delightful one.

Dress Code.

We know that getting your groom to gather his groomsmen and plan a day of shopping is more easier said than done. Luckily for you, Dress Code offers a new way of shopping. Allowing the suit to come to them and eliminating hours of "painful" shopping.

Dress Code is unlike other retailers, in that they do not sell their garments online and do not have a brick and mortar store. Instead, they offer a highly personalized clothing experience by sending style consultants to meet with you at your home or office. Here they are able to narrow in on your style preference, take exact measurements, and offer fabric choices. They even offer personalized liners with names and dates to add important details to your groom's wedding day attire. Because of their low overhead costs, your groom will not only receive top quality customer service, but also a custom suit at an unbelievable price.
Suits range from $300-$400, but look like a million bucks!

Antoinette's Antique Jewelry.

If you are a bride that wants an engagement ring that is beautiful, unique, and tells a story, then look no further than  Antoinette's! This lovely little shop established in 1977 is located on one of the trendiest streets in Salt Lake City, 239 East and Broadway. Don't be alarmed if you walk up to the door and it is locked, just simply ring the doorbell and a friendly consultant will let you right in. The pieces at Antoinette's will make you wish that you could get an engagement ring for every finger!

Events by LMG

Now that you are engaged, you might be hit with sudden fatigue when you begin to think of all the things that need to get done. That is where an event planner can step in and take a lot of weight off your shoulders. From full on event planning to day of coordination, the experts at LMG personalize their service around you!
There focus is to create unique events that highlight the bride and groom and offer a warm and inviting environment for all guests. If you want your wedding day to look like it popped right out of a magazine editorial, then look no further than Events by LMG.

Blossom Sweet

Flowers are such a fun way to create your wedding day style. In fact, I recommend working with a florist first before planning any other decor. An artistic florist, such as Blossom Sweet, will offer creative and unique ideas for your overall color palette. They will help direct you to the best flowers to use for the season, and what colors work best together. We highly recommend Blossom Sweet as each of her lovely, floral creations leave us awestruck and excited to see what she will come up with next!

Layers Cake

As if cake wasn't already our favorite treat at a wedding, Layers Cake takes this delicious confection and turns it into an incredible work of art. Layers work with their brides one on one during a complimentary consultation and cake tasting. During the consultation, they will work with you to create a unique and fully customized idea to reflect your wedding day style.

Steven Robertson Hair

If there was ever a day to pamper yourself from head to toe, I think your wedding day is it! We definitely suggest hiring a stylist to take care of you and relieve that added stress of looking "perfect". If you want a true professional and the stylist of the stars, than Steven Robertson is your guy!
You have to book months in advance to get Steven to amp up your look but trust us, he's worth it! Steven is a multi award winning hair stylist and has worked for big name clients throughout the country. His wonderful talent alone is worth the wait, but when you meet him, your day will be all the more bright.

Timeless Trendsetter

We know that on your wedding day you want to feel beautiful.
We want to help you focus on the details to keep your look modern and sophisticated. Playing with trends can be fun, but it is wise to consider how you want to feel when you look back at one of the most memorable days in your life. We want you to proudly display your wedding photos for years to come and avoid the excuse of "it was so in style".

Here are a few ideas to keep your look fashion forward and forever classic.

A modern bride should be focused on enhancing her style by adding accessories that play off her personality.Your bridal hair is important to your overall look and the right accessories can definitely make a statement.Your hair is also the perfect canvas to incorporate your "something old". Consider cutting a piece of lace from your mother's wedding dress to be worn in the hair, or redesigning your grandmother's veil to feel modern and fresh.

Your dress will of course be one of the focal points of your wedding day. By working with a knowledgeable bridal consultant, they can help you find the dress that fits your personality and introduce accessories that will create a look that is uniquely you.

Our bride Amanda fell in love with a vintage cut lace gown. The ivory lace pops off the oyster satin underlay. Matched perfectly with a modern sweetheart neckline and dramatic accessories, Amanda's look is glamorous but still very bridal.

Another great way to set your bridal look apart is to subtly add current trends to an overall classic gown. Our bride Andrea chose a lace gown with soft, wispy feathers set in the skirt. By keeping a monochromatic ivory color palette in her bouquet, her look feels chic and sophisticated.

If you have fallen in love with a dress inspired from a specific era, your photography will play a key role in keeping your wedding look fresh. We love this Sarah Seven tea length dress in this ultra modern setting.

Or, if you have ventured into true fashionista territory, you  can balance the fashion trend by capturing photos in a gorgeous classic setting.

The shoe is a very important piece in your bridal look. It is smart to be comfortable, it is also smart to be stylish! Our bride Katelin Jane chose a lovely pair of poppy red Valentino heels to wear on her wedding day. The fun vibrant color paired with the classic bow will be a style her grandchildren will admire.

Our bride Emily wore a modern metallic gold heel with her vintage inspired lace gown. A perfect reflection of her sense of style amplified on her wedding day.

All in all, your wedding day look should make you feel nothing less than spectacular. If you are searching for your gown or still need help accessorizing the look, our bridal consultants are here to help!
To set your appointment, call our shop at 801.322.4324.

Neda

Neda made a beautiful bride as she walked down the isle this past September. Her stunning crinkle chiffon gown featuring ruching and pick ups had to be custom sized to fit her petite frame.Would you ever believe this dress was a size 14 and fitted down to a size 2? With the assurance from our extremely talented tailors, Neda put her trust in them; now we get to enjoy the immaculate results.
Ron and Neda's Snowbird wedding is truly a vision of elegance and sophistication. They chose wisely when they decided on Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen Photography to capture their special day.

We are so happy for you Neda and Ron. Thank you for letting The Brides' Shop be a part of such a beautiful day.
