Highlights from Chicago Bridal Market

The Brides' Shop buyers just returned from Bridal Market in Chicago. We are beyond excited for our 2014 inventory and cannot wait to show you the dresses we brought back with us!

Although we were able to enjoy a refreshing walk down Chicago's famous Michigan St.,we spent most of our time here, at the Merchandise Mart ; searching for gorgeous gowns and accessories.

Market is a whirlwind and we had to keep a sharp editing eye; as to bring home only the most beautiful dresses out of the thousands that were showcased.

We were lucky enough to score front row seats to the markets fashion show.

 Cathedral veils are making a dramatic comeback this year!

We also attended exclusive designer fashion shows. Elaborate beading, delicate laces, silky chiffons; the bridal looks for 2014 are absolutely stunning!

Market was a huge success this year. We hope you will schedule a time to visit our boutique and see all the beautiful looks yourself.

On your  wedding day, it's all about the details. Katelin-Jane paid special attention to all the little details that made her wedding day truly unique. With the help of the talented Alixann Loosle Photography, all the little details were be forever preserved in these gorgeous photos.

 

 

The bride's Valentino shoes are AMAZING!! Love the poppy red color and the chic little bow!

 The groomsman's socks are pretty cool too!

The flower girls are both trendy and adorable. We love their darling and dainty floral crowns.

The bridesmaids are pretty in pink! The ruffled collar is fun and unique.

The reception was held at "This is the Place" Heritage Park. No detail was overlooked. Take a look at the gorgeous venue highlighted by sparkling chandeliers.

The color pallet of soft blush, and ivory create a romantic environment. The touches of bronze and green bring in a delicate contrast to the setting.

The refreshments are sweetly accessorized with fun straws, burlap, and a little pink ribbon.

To top it off, Katelin-Jane left in an all lace getaway gown! Congratulations you two!!

Our Sensational Seamstress!

We feel so lucky to have such an amazing seamstress at our shop! We truly feel like Oksana is one of a kind and know it's hard to find someone as talented as she is. Oksana's work is so outstanding and remarkable. She always manages to amaze me. She is infamous for saying, "It's not easy, but it's doable." Somehow she seems to make everything come together and look like it was originally made to look like what she has created. She has to make a lot of strapless gowns "temple ready" but is equally as gifted at doing a simple hem or taking a gown in for the perfect fit. She has provided me with some pictures of gowns she has altered and I wanted to share them with our readers.

First I want to share two lovely sisters who both found their gowns here. Two of the sweetest brides I have ever met.

Believe it or not this next gown started as a halter and Ellen wanted to lose the halter, add a sleeve and have a little open triangle in the back.

This next dress I have seen sleeves be added quite a few different ways. Here are two of the ways, and I've also seen it with a really beautiful bolero jacket. Oksana totally recreated the bodice of the gown but still kept with the integrity of the dress.

This next bride already had a bit of a sleeve to work with but it had to be a bit wider, higher neck and taken down about 10 sizes.

Jessica's gown was originally strapless (sorry, I don't have the before picture) and she ended up having left over from the belt to make a bracelet and left over from the shoulder piece to make a hairpiece.
